GUIDELINES
The manuscript should be clearly typewritten, single-spaced, double-spaced between paragraphs, on white medium-weight paper. Do not use ornamental type, justified right margins, or hyphenated words. Do not use liquid paper to correct errors on your submission. The sheets should be of the standard 8.5” x 11” size and of good enough quality to permit clear markings in ink. Margins should be about one inch on each side and at the top and bottom. All pages should be numbered consecutively (Always included your name, address, phone number, and title of anthology your work is submitted for.), preferably in the upper right-hand corner throughout the entire work. Use only one side of the sheet. A quotation that will run four fines or more is usually set off as a single-spaced, double-indented paragraph. It is not advantageous to submit the manuscript in any special ornamental binder. If assembled neatly in a folder envelope, or cardboard box, the manuscript will be more in keeping with the practice of most professional writers and with the preference of most editors. We reserve the right to accept or reject any submission without notice.
When corresponding to The Drury’s Gazette always included a Self-Address Stamped Envelope
[SASE]. This will facilitate a prompt response from us.
IMPORTANT: The author should always retain a complete carbon copy or photocopy of the manuscript, not only to facilitate correspondence between the editor and author, but to serve as insurance against loss of the original copy. The Drury’s Gazette is usually very careful not to lose or damage a manuscript, but our legal responsibility does not extend beyond “reasonable care.” Everyone is welcome to submit a poem of no more than 35 lines in length, any style and any subject mater. There are no fees of any kind to have your poem published, if accepted. However, if you wish for your submission to be considered in our ongoing quarterly contest you must remit $3 per each submission. We reserve the exclusive right to reject any submission without notice for any reason whatsoever.
Note: That unless we specify otherwise - we do not return submissions. Poems should be typed as sample shown. Short hand written in block style will be considered if legible
Use of profanity or patently vulgar language — Using language that is racist, hateful, sexual, discriminating or obscene in nature is strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. Incident of this nature will be reported to the proper authorities.

WINGS
Oh, to go where angels fly,
Where life is sweet and never dies.
Where youthful waters ebb and flow,
A place reserved for welcomed souls.
I’d spread my wings and follow the tide,
My guardian angel a be my guide.
Trials and Tribulations my worldly woes,
As my life casually unfolds.
Oh, to go where angels reside,
Where wings are never bound or tied.
Where gentle rains fall soft and slow,
Temperatures constant and never cold.
I’d spread my wings and follow the tide,
My guardian angel a be my guide.
The sands are dripping out my soul,
Now I must leave, my story’s told.
